Wiltshire photographs

This is close to where I grew up. One photo is of a prehistoric area called Silbury Hill.

There is much debate about it. I like the story that my step-father used to tell. It ended with the Devil dumping all that chalk there, but I was too young to remember the rest of it! For those with curiosity there’s a link in Wikipedia… Silbury Hill is a prehistoric artificial chalk mound near Avebury in the English county of Wiltshire.

I remember it as cold and rainy as a child. But the other couple of photos are to prove that the weather can change dramatically and really beautify the scenery. If you look closely in the first photo you will see a much more recent landmark, the White Horse on the Cherhill Down that dates from the 18th century.
