While I was in Beijing, I took a trip out to the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall. It was a foggy morning, but the walk along the wall was still spectacular. People often describe the wall as being like a huge dragon winding up and down the mountains. That’s certainly how it felt as it stretched endlessly into the distance. For those who don’t know, it’s actually 5,500 miles long. That just boggles my mind as I think about a wall that could stretch well beyond the distance I travel from Boston to London regularly – that takes several hours by plane!
